Yonomi is a free app for iPhone or Android that connects all your smart home devices. With Yonomi’s help, set up routines that involve multiple products to help your life run that bit more smoothly. It’s just an app, no hardware is needed and it works with more than 60 popular smart devices and wearables. As such, chances are it will talk to any of your existing tech, as well as your future purchases.

So, how does it work? Yonomi allows you to set up ‘routines’ where different actions lead to others. For example, when your phone rings, set music to mute so you can hear the call. Or, something as mundane as remembering to take out the rubbish – if it’s 6.45am and Monday, a reminder pops up to tell you sort the recycling. You can also set up a complete ‘wake up’ routine. At 7am the routine shares the weather on Sonos, turns on your Philips Hue lights and starts up your Belkin WeMo coffee maker. Routines can be triggered by a specific time of day, location or other preferences. And you can add conditions – such as, ‘only if I’m home’ or ‘only it’s before 11pm’.
The app is there for the fun things too. If you have Amazon Echo, use it to create a routine in Yonomi called ‘Movie night’, that turns on your TV, dims your lights and turns up Nest to your preferred temperature. Simply say ‘Alexa, turn on movie night’ to run the routine. And while you’re away on holiday, the temperature adjusts to save energy and lights turn on randomly to make it look like someone is at home.
Yonomi currently works with products from Belkin, Jawbone, Nest, Philips, Sonos and more. Plus new ones are added all the time.
